Undergraduate Studies

Three enjoyable years at Newcastle University studying the fundamentals of running and contributing to a successful business, gaining a BA (Hons) Business Marketing and Management.

Early Career

Entering the word of Tax via Ernst and Young, I worked as here for 5years. Gaining the ATT (Associate of Tax Technicians) qualification in 2012, I then went on to  further qualify as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2014. With an expanding knowledge of UK Tax, came an appetite for more complex cases. I took on a role at Deloitte, where I was part of a small but dedicated team focused on High Net Worth Individuals and owner managed businesses.

Investments Begin

After purchasing my own home, it was time to begin investing. A small terraced home in a popular family area marked the first buy-to-let in the current portfolio. Several others followed; from townhouses to purpose built flats, all in the Newcastle area.

Complex Cases

Just as with the previous move, a switch to KPMG meant a more challenging and intricate client portfolio. It brought with it a chance to explore life in New Zealand, expanding my knowledge of international issues.

Home Again

Returning to the UK after several years abroad, made for an opportunity to try new investment strategies; including flips and Serviced Accommodation, diversifying the portfolio.

To Today

After more than sixteen years in industry, the urge to offer my services directly was too much to ignore. Now, I manage Your Personal Tax Expert alongside a small portfolio of properties, from my base in Ponteland, Northumberland.
